Hyderabad: Police in Rangareddy district booked a minor boy under the Pocso Act after a tribal girl from the same village was found nine months pregnant. The case came to light when her family took her to a private hospital and lodged a complaint.
The girl, who had recently completed her SSC exams, disclosed during counselling that the boy was responsible. Police recorded her statement in the presence of the Bharosa team. Based on medical reports and technical evidence, the boy was shifted to a juvenile shelter home after examination.
Authorities moved the victim to a government caretaker home in Hyderabad for protection and medical care. “We are thoroughly investigating the case and a strong chargesheet will be filed against the accused as per law,” a police officer said.
