Washington DC: US President Donald Trump has named Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping among the world leaders he most admires, describing them as “classics” and praising their leadership, political strength, and global influence.

Speaking on The Axios Show, Trump said Xi and Modi stand out for their authority and impact on the world stage. “I think Modi is very good,” Trump said, adding that the Indian Prime Minister has stayed out of wars and leads the world’s most populous nation.

Trump praised Modi’s long tenure in office, noting that he has remained in power for more than 12 years despite India’s previously unstable political landscape. He described Modi as a leader who projects calmness while being “a very tough guy.”

“I know him very well,” Trump said, calling Modi “very solid” and crediting him for bringing stability to Indian politics.

The US President also highlighted India-US economic ties, saying the two countries now conduct “fair business” under his leadership.

Trump compared Modi and Xi to figures who could headline a movie, saying, “Modi’s great. President Xi is great. Classics, you know?” He reiterated that both leaders are distinguished by their influence and leadership on the global stage.
