Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews has been released from Dubai’s notorious Al-Awir prison, but he could be back behind bars in just a matter of days

Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews’ new found freedom may be short lived as it’s revealed he could be jailed again in a matter of days. After vanishing with no trace last month after failing to arrive in the UK, Katie claimed that her fourth husband had been “kidnapped”.

But weeks later, Lee surfaced in the notorious Al-Awir prison where he said he’d been locked up for ‘espionage.’ However’ the true reason has since been exposed. The Sun claims Lee was jailed for thousands of pounds of unpaid debts, including to a legal firm.

He now has just 14 days to repay the costs, including 266 Dirhams (£54,000) to a care rental company, Rotanna Star, dating back to 2022.

The second case, which resulted in Lee’s arrest, is for 74,817.50 Dirhams (£15,000), which he allegedly owes to a United Arab Emirates law firm, likely unpaid legal fees. Due to Lee’s debts, he would have to inform the Dubai CID (Criminal Investigation Department) – but he is not an “actively wanted” man.

Lee, who claimed to be a multi-millionaire, has previously boasted about his alleged wealth and his ownership of a fleet of high-end cars, including a Ferrari he had bought for Katie.

Representatives for Andrews petitioned for the judge to release him so that he could access his bank accounts to pay off the remaining debts. In a statement, representatives said: “The judgment debtor appeared before the court and was questioned regarding the reason for failure to pay the debt.

“He stated his wife is currently outside the country and that he has been unable to access his bank account required to make payment. He requested a period of 14 days in order to settle the outstanding amount.” It was claimed that Lee was bragging behind bars that Katie would pay money to release him, however, the former model didn’t part with a penny.

The Sun claims that Katie had helped Lee liaise with officials when he was jailed, but insisted that he can pay the debts himself. Now, he has two weeks to find the £69,000, or he could be rearrested and jailed again. Upon returning to social media this week, Lee told his followers that his arrest had nothing to do with fraud or any criminal activity.

Another grey area for Lee has been the matter of his newly-grown locks. Strict rules at the Dubai jail where he was held ensure that every prisoner has as little hair as possible to prevent a lice infestation from breaking out amongst the 6,000 inmates. However, when he returned to Instagram this week, things looked very different – with Lee debuting a new full head of hair.

It comes after Lee claimed he had been held at gunpoint and taken to a Black Site. He said: “I was taken close to the Qatar Omani border at gunpoint and was captured by men with assault rifles.” However, Qatar and Oman do not share a border.

Lee added: “They did slap me around a little bit, the little s**ts. I was hand-tied, shackled and also with a hood over my head. From there I was taken to a black site and I had no use of my phone. From what I know, it was an extended arm of the national guard, and that’s all I can reveal at the moment.”

He went on to claim that he had signed disclaimers with state security, meaning he is prohibited from sharing any details.
