Hyderabad: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has urged devotees not to believe unverified claims circulating on social media regarding the online booking of ₹300 Special Entry Darshan tickets, clarifying that the intense competition for tickets is primarily due to exceptionally high demand.
The TTD said nearly six lakh users might simultaneously attempt to book tickets during peak releases. If each user sought tickets for an average of four family members, potential demand could touch 24 lakh tickets against a quota of around 2.69 lakh — nearly nine times the available capacity.
To handle the surge, the TTD said it uses Google Cloud Platform, load balancing, auto-scaling, distributed architecture and a virtual queue to regulate traffic and maintain system stability. A dedicated technical war room monitors application performance, infrastructure, transactions and security during ticket releases.
It clarified that messages such as “Slot Unavailable” could result from tickets being exhausted within a short period because of heavy demand and should not automatically be construed as a technical failure.
The TTD also pointed out that payment transactions depend on external payment gateways, banking and UPI networks. Therefore, a failed transaction does not necessarily indicate a failure of its booking system.
The temple body said it was continuously upgrading its online booking, database performance, security, anti-bot mechanisms and payment systems based on user feedback and previous traffic patterns. It appealed to devotees not to mistake an unsuccessful booking attempt for a system failure.
