Tulsi Gabbard Gives Rare Health Update On Husband After His 7-Hour Cancer Surgery, ‘Had A Rough..’

After resigning from her role as Former Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard has recently shared a rare update about her husband’s cancer treatment. Her emotional message comes several weeks after Tulsi announced her decision to step away from public service in support of her husband, Abraham Williams, during his treatment. For those unaware, it was one of the biggest resignations from the Trump Administration’s cabinet, shocking the country. 

Tulsi Gabbard shares rare health update about her husband

Tulsi Gabbard recently took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) and revealed that her husband, Abraham Williams, underwent a long operation. It comes after he was diagnosed with a rare medical conditional known as sacral chordoma. The update has quickly drawn attention, and several internet users have sent prayers and well-wishes to the couple. According to Tulsi, the surgery lasted for nearly seven hours. In fact, it involved the removal of affected bone and surrounding tissue. Despite the complexity of the procedure, she confirmed that the operation was successful. 

However, the recovery process has already proven to be challenging for him. She went to share a candid update about his condition following the procedure. According to Tulsi, Abraham experienced a difficult first night after the surgery. In fact, he is dealing with significant pain. However, she reassured supporters that he has now returned home. At the same time, they are working together to continue his recovery. She also expressed her gratitude for the prayers and well-wishes that came their way. In her words:

“My husband, Abraham, was diagnosed with a very rare sacral chordoma. The surgery to remove bone and surrounding tissue lasted almost seven hours and was successful. He had a rough night and is in a lot of pain, but is finally home resting. Now recovery begins. We’re so grateful…”

Tulsi Gabbard resigned from public service to support her husband

The rare update of Abraham Williams comes after Tulsi shared an emotional resignation announcement a few weeks ago. According to reports from Fox News, she initially spoke to President Donald Trump in private at a meeting in White House. During the meeting, she informed him about her decision to step down and the reason behind it. Later, she shared her resignation letter on her X handle. For those unaware, her resignation is expected to take effect on June 30, 2026. In the letter, she clearly mentioned that her priorities had changed after Abraham’s diagnosis. 

In turn, she could not commit herself to the demands of a high-level national security position. At the same time, Tulsi had highlighted how her husband had been her “rock” and reflected on his always playing a significant role in their marriage. According to Tulsi, he stood by her through her military deployments, multiple political campaigns, and several years in public service. In turn, President Trump had publicly supported her decision through a post on Trump Social and expressed his confidence that Abraham would make a successful recovery.
