Mumbai Crime Branch Finds No Voice Match With Harry Boxer

According to Mumbai Police sources, the Crime Branch’s technical team examined the audio recording of the threatening call. Investigators compared the caller’s voice with official audio samples of Harry Boxer available in the police database.

The preliminary analysis found no match between the two recordings. This has led the police to suspect that the person behind the threat may have been impersonating a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to create fear and demand money.

8 Nagpur Jewellers Receive Threat Letter

Fear has spread among traders in Nagpur’s bullion market after at least eight jewellers reportedly received threat letters in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Monday. The letters allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from each jeweller.

The senders threatened to harm the traders and their families. They also warned of serious consequences if the money was not paid or the matter was reported to the police.

According to the information available, the letters instructed the jewellers to write a particular slogan outside their shops as a sign of their willingness to pay. The senders reportedly said they would then share details about how and where the extortion money should be delivered.

Police suspect that local extortionists may be using the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s name to intimidate traders. The jewellers are considering approaching the police with complaints, while Tehsil Police are preparing to register a case.

Rs 10 Lakh Extortion Threat Also Reported In Mira-Bhayandar

This is not the first instance of a trader being threatened in the name of the Bishnoi gang. Recently, a businessman in Mira-Bhayandar reportedly received a phone call from a person claiming to be a member of the gang, who demanded Rs 10 lakh.

The caller allegedly threatened to shoot the businessman if he failed to pay the amount. The complainant, around 50 years old, is involved in the real estate business in the Mira-Bhayandar area.

Police registered a case under Sections 308(2), 308(3) and 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to extortion and criminal intimidation. The investigation reportedly found no established link between the person who made the threat and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
