Bhopal: The judicial custody of husband and mom-in-law of 33-year-old model Twisha Sharma, who died in a mysterious circumstance in her marital home here on May 12, was on Tuesday extended by 14 days.
Retired judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth, both are accused in dowry harassment of late Twisha, were produced in the court of special judge Shobhana Bhalave here, virtually, on Tuesday after their judicial remand period ended.
The court granted the CBI’s plea to extend their judicial custody by 14 days till June 30, according to Ankur Pandey, the counsel of Twisha’s family.
Giribala Singh and her son were on June two sent to judicial custody till June 16.
The CBI has taken over the probe into the case.
Twisha was found hanging in her marital home a few hours after she visited a beauty parlor here on May 12.
In the CCTV footage, she was seen having a head massage in the parlor and looking cool.
In the statement given during the filing of FIR in the case on May 15, Twisha’s family said that she last spoke to her mother on phone at 9.41 pm on the fateful day.
Then the shouting by her husband was heard and the phone call got snapped.
After repeated calls, Giribala Singh picked up the call and told Twisha’s sister-in-law that ‘She is no more’ before snapping the call.
Twisha’s first postmortem report said that her death was caused due to ‘antemortem hanging by ligature’ and found multiple injuries on her body.
Her second postmortem report is yet to be made public.
