Tyreek Hill has ‘no power’ in left leg after devastating injury with return timeline a mystery

Nearly one year after a debilitating leg/knee injury, Tyreek Hill is still ways away from returning to the field.

The former Dolphins star receiver said he has “no power” in his left leg roughly 10 months after his injury and following two surgeries after suffering damage to his ACL, MCL and LCL.

“My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg at all, so I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg,” Hill said in a YouTube video.

“I’ve been activating the quads, the glutes, the hamstrings, the calves. I’ve been doing all the stability work, all the mobility work that I need to get my knee back right but it’s one day at a time.”

Hill’s NFL future is in question after suffering a career-threatening injury last September against the Jets.

He tore his ACL and multiple ligaments while being tackled during a “Monday Night Football” game and ultimately needed surgery.

Hill, 32, said in the video he also underwent an LCL surgery in February.

With Hill relying so much on his speed to be a difference-making receiver, this type of injury could rob him of his greatest strength.

It also complicates his availability for 2026 with training camps opening this week, although it’s possible he could sign with a team during the season.

Hill did not seem deterred in the video, though.

Timeline looking real good right now, man,” Hill said in a clip titled “The Cheetah Runs AGAIN.”

Hill’s latest post showcased him rehabbing in various settings.

One segment featured him in a pool in Miami, which included him bouncing on his feet, high knees and Hill jumping from the floor of the pool to a ledge.

Another clip showed outside of the water doing lower-half-centered activities, including bands and running bare-footed on a basketball court.

Hill said he’s doing “tempo” runs even though his doctors would prefer he doesn’t, and he added that in roughly a month and a half he will be able to sprint on a track.

“Trying to get my explosion and my burst back,” Hill said. “So whenever I step back on the field, it’s like none of it is missing.”

Hill is a free agent after the Dolphins cut him in the offseason to end a four-year tenure that included him tallying a league-high 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2023.

Those totals dipped to 959 yards and six scores in 2024 before he notched 21 catches for 265 yards and one receiving touchdown in limited action last season.

Some have speculated if a return to the Chiefs could be in work after he starred for the team from 2016-21 before his shocking trade to the Dolphins.

“You know, they told me I may not be able walk again,” Hill said. “Even the doctor was like, ‘Bro, we don’t know what’s going to happen with your future.’ And now look at me. God is good.”
