Tyson Fury is fronting a new Netflix documentary that dives into his complicated life outside of the ring

A “deeply moving” new documentary about Tyson Fury is coming to Netflix and fans don’t have long to wait.

The streaming giant has just dropped a trailer for Tyson Fury, a fresh documentary diving into the heavyweight boxer’s success in and outside the ring.

The 38-year-old sportsman already fronts another Netflix series with his family, titled At Home With the Furys, but this new release focuses on his personal struggles from sports career to mental health battles.

A synopsis teases: “Tracing his journey from childhood to the heights of boxing, the film tells the deeply moving story behind Tyson’s success in the ring.

“Through candid interviews with Tyson, his wife Paris and his father John, alongside never-before-seen archive footage, it charts the triumphs and setbacks of his career, his struggles with mental health and addiction, the loss of a child, complex family relationships and the question of what it means to be a man.”

Fans don’t have long to wait for the documentary because it will be released on Friday, November 27. In the candid trailer, Tyson and wife Paris are heard sharing difficult truths about their lives away from cameras.

Just seconds in, Tyson admits that he was taught to show “no emotions” during his upbringing. The fighter then goes on to confess that his 2015 bout against Wladimir Klitschko became something of an “obsession” and ultimately triggered a tough period in his life.

In a later scene, the vulnerable boxer says: “I’d achieved all my childhood dreams but my whole point of existence had been taken away. I didn’t want to live.” His father John then reveals: “The affect it had on him was far deeper than I could ever imagine.”

Meanwhile, Paris adds: “The Tyson that I knew was gone. And I was so scared.” It’s unclear if the trailer is referencing the aftermath of Tyson’s 2015 fight or another pivotal moment in his life, but the full documentary is set to reveal all the details.

The heavyweight champion goes on to say: “The Gypsy King, no matter what you chuck at him, he will overcome it. But it wasn’t about boxing, it was about trying to get well again.”

The new documentary comes just months after At Home with the Furys was renewed for a third season on Netflix. The platform published an update on its upcoming slate of TV shows back in August, confirming that the Fury family show is currently in production and expected to air next year.

It will shed light on Tyson’s daughter Venezuela’s wedding to Noah Price, as well as the boxer’s preparation for his highly anticipated return to the ring against Makhmudov ahead of the upcoming blockbuster showdown with Anthony Joshua.
