Upasana Kamineni Konidela Completes Sundara Kandam Parayana

That Upasana Kamineni Konidela embraces a deeply personal spiritual life centred around faith and ritual fasting is well known. She frequently attributes her personal and family milestones to their deep faith in Lord Rama and Hanuman. Upasana and her husband, Ram Charan, officially shared their first pregnancy news by stating that it was with the “blessings of Shri Hanuman Ji.”

On September 1, 2026, Upasana vowed to complete Sundara Kandam Parayana in 21 days, and on Monday, she successfully completed it. But her spiritual journey turned out to be more profound.

Over a year ago, she commissioned Arun Yogiraj ji (the sculptor of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya) to create a special Sri Ram idol for her 93-year-old grandfather, Prathap Reddy. His lifelong devotion to Sundara Kandam recitation always inspired her. Coincidentally, the Sri Ram idol was also ready on the same day (the 21st day) of her parayana. “I don’t believe this is a coincidence. I believe it is divine timing,” shares Upasana, adding, “May Sri Rama and Hanuman ji give us the strength to face every challenge with maryada, grace and unwavering faith.”

Upasana also frequently visits sacred shrines and uses the occasion to share empowering messages centred on divine feminine strength and cultural heritage.
