Valkyries vs. Dream Game 4 prediction: Angel Reese domination continues

Momentum in a best-of-seven series is huge, and the Atlanta Dream seem to have it in spades in their WNBA Finals matchup against the Golden State Valkyries.

The Dream won Game 3 at home in front of a sell-out crowd and head back to State Farm Arena after a two-day break for a pivotal Game 4.

The Dream are 4.5-point favorites at home and can put the Valkyries’ season on the brink if they keep playing with the ferocity they’ve shown in this magical postseason run.

Valkyries vs. Dream Game 4 prediction

Game 3 felt like watching one team on a treadmill and the other in quicksand.

The Dream defense was swarming, forcing turnovers and getting out in transition to score easy buckets.

They forced 17 turnovers Wednesday night and scored 22 points off those mistakes, which makes six times in eight playoff games they’ve tallied at least 20 points off turnovers.

Maybe the lack of a rest day between Game 2 and Game 3 was a factor for the Valkyries, but they seemed a step slow from the opening tip.

They should be rested after two nights off, but it doesn’t seem like they have a plan for stopping Angel Reese. She has emerged as a dominating force in the Finals and posted her third-straight double-double in the series.

Reese has been hounding ball-handlers and jumping passing lanes on defense, while getting to the basket with force and hitting 3s when defenders dare her to shoot.

Kiah Stokes has been the only player able to slow Reese down in this series, but the Dream made a point of attacking Stokes and getting her into foul trouble.

The books still don’t believe in Reese’s scoring ability and have listed her points prop at 16.5, just one point higher than the line for Game 3. Reese looks like she’s on a mission, and her teammates are feeding her every time she gets an advantage.

I’ll take the Over once again and buy low on the rising star.

The Pick: Angel Reese Over 16.5 points (-102, FanDuel)
