Vanessa Feltz has shared her anger after that she and her grandchildren were stranded with hundreds of other passengers in Sardinia, calling the experience ‘hellish’

Vanessa Feltz was left stranded in Sardinia with her grandchildren and hundreds of other passengers. The TV star took to Instagram with her frustration, as she shared that she was stuck in a ‘hellish’ queue.

The 64-year-old had been on holiday in Italy with her family and was trying to get back home when she stopped receiving updates on her flight and was left waiting to see if she could board.

In a video, Vanessa started by explaining that a system fault with British Airways had meant no one could get on the flight, fuming that no one seemed to have a back up plan: “In Sardinia, the whole system is down, we’re all standing in the queue, waiting and waiting and waiting.

“They’ve got no plan, there’s no alternative, I don’t know what they’re going to suggest, and we’re all just waiting, waiting,” she continued. Briefly making light of the situation, she added: “I’ve got four little grandchildren, and we’re actually, we’re forming great relationships, and maybe I’ll find a man to marry me in the queue, I don’t know, but so far, nothing!”

In another video, she said: “Still standing in this hellish queue that just doesn’t move at all because the whole system is down. No one is telling us anything, no one knows, everyone is thinking ”throw away our luggage, just throw it away. What’s in there anyway, a few old things from Matalan, a few old things from Dunnes Stores in Ireland in 1807, I don’t care if I never see my suitcase, I just want to go home!’ that type of thing.

She furiously slammed what she believed was a lack of care from the airline, saying: “And no one’s caring, apparently they could possibly do it manually but they need authorisation, from who, God himself what the hell? What the heck?”

Vanessa’s trip to Italy came shortly after her Channel 5 talk show aired its final episode. The show was axed by the network earlier this year, and Vanessa now plans to follow in Holly Willoughby’s footsteps and host her own show on YouTube.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Vanessa explained: “It’s going to be a kind of grown-up Big Breakfast-ish all shot at my house, which I call Feltz Towers. It’s my actual house where I really live. I’ve lived there 24 years and there’s a studio under construction right now.

“It’s going to be shot in my kitchen, in my bathroom, in my bedroom, on the staircase and all over the house really. It’s a Victorian Gothic folly so it’s got a sort of Juliet balcony and I might well be on the balcony to greet my guests calling over the edge of it.”

“I think they’re saving money by putting on movies they already own instead and there are cuts everywhere in TV, it’s not only me,” she added later, speaking on behalf of BetWright Casino.

“I’m just a minuscule part of this huge thing which is devastating for absolutely everyone because people have given their lives to this business. I’m not the only shocked and blindsided person, certainly not, but I do what I’ve always done in life, which is just keep calm and carry on because what else can you do?”

The Mirror went to British Airways for comment.
