EXCLUSIVE: Channel 5 and LBC Radio presenter Vanessa Feltz has opened up about her love life and search for romance after her split from Ben Ofoedu
Bright and bubbly TV legend Vanessa Feltz has admitted that despite her busy life she struggles with being single.
The 64-year-old presenterâs last relationship, with partner of 16 years Ben Ofoedu, ended in 2023, when he admitted cheating. And in a new chat on Katherine Ryanâs podcast Whatâs My Age Again?, candid Vanessa said she still hasnât managed to adjust to her new solo life.
âYou know, I seek him here. I seek him there,â she said of finding a partner. âSingle but reluctantly. I donât like it.â
She continued, âI come home and itâs an empty, dark, rather cold house and thereâs no one there to say, âWas it all right?â⌠Thereâs just no one⌠And itâs so boring. Itâs so quiet. Itâs so tedious. Your own thoughts roam and get bigger and bigger.â

After these heart-wrenching comments, a source has told n ew that Vanessa would love to find The One. âVanessa really wants a bloke,â they claim.
âSheâs been on dates and had men after her, but itâs not worked out. You get to an age where youâre a bit fussy and you know what you like and donât like.â
Vanessaâs split from Phats & Small singer Ben after 16 years together was heartbreaking for her. At the time of their break-up she said it was a âterrible shockâ and she felt âhumiliatedâ when she discovered his cheating â that he had been messaging another woman for a year.
âI suppose you could say my entire love life has been a complete abomination, a catastrophe, an absolute car crash,â she told The Mirror. âPeople might think Iâm an absolute fool. And if they do, they would not be wrong.â
Vanessa was so shell-shocked when he admitted his betrayal, she jumped out of a moving taxi. âI couldnât stand another second,â she said. âI couldnât bear it.
“I opened the door of the moving taxi and jumped. My coat was torn. Blood was seeping from a cut on my arm. I assumed he would stop the cab and follow to see if Iâd survived the leap. He didnât.â
Talking to Katherine Ryan last week, Vanessa said she stayed in the doomed relationship for so many years because she couldnât be alone. âI just couldnât bear to come out the other end and just be alone. And now I have to just get on with, donât I?â
Trying to piece her life back together after their sudden split, later that year Vanessa embarked on a quest to find a partner on E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating.
Despite her efforts, and the help of the showâs experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson, she hasnât yet found lasting love and three years after her last relationship, she still finds herself single.
âAfter Ben, who really let her down, she finds it really hard to trust anyone,â our source claims. âShe will find someone, but itâs taking its time.â
Fortunately, Vanessa, who is currently fronting her own chat show on Channel 5 as well as presenting on LBC Radio, is surrounded by her supportive family â two daughters Allegra, 40, and Saskia, 37, from her marriage to surgeon Michael Kurer and four grandchildren Zeke, Neroli, AJ and Cecily.
âWe are a very close family and they definitely do form a network around me,â she said. âI do the same for them and it means you donât have to be alone, which is very lucky because I wouldnât like that very much. It means youâve got the family on your side helping you and supporting you through.â
Our source added, âSheâs throwing everything into work â she works seven days a week, with her Vanessa show and presenting on LBC radio, and sheâs got her grandkids.â
So, what kind of man is she looking for? Sheâs admitted her ultimate celebrity crush is Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum.
âI hope one day Cupid will pierce me with his arrow and I will find true love again,â she previously said. âHowever, Iâm not prepared to settle. My last relationship has put me off dating a wannabe. Iâve had enough of being somebodyâs access-all-areas lanyard.â
