TV actor Vijayendra Kumeria has finally opened up about his turbulent married life and separation. In a recent interview, he has confirmed his divorce from his wife, Preeti Bhatia. For the unversed, Vijayendra and Preeti got married in January 2012. They also share a daughter named Kimaya. It is worth noting that rumours about Vijayendra’s separation from Preeti were making rounds on the internet for a long time.

In a recent interview with Times of India, Vijayendra Kumeria confirmed his divorce from Preeti Bhatia. Rumours about Vijayendra and Preeti’s separation first started making the rounds on the internet in March 2023. At the time, Preeti shared a cryptic message on her Instagram. Sharing a picture of herself with her daughter, Kimaya, Preeti wrote:
“Out of all the lies you told me- I Love You was my favourite. I Miss you was the second best. Major missing happening.”
Vijayendra shared that, all the while, he was trying to figure out and accept what was happening in his personal life. The Udaan actor mentioned that he was not ready to talk about the things that were happening with him for the past few years. After more than a decade of marriage, Vijayendra and Preeti eventually reached a point where they understood calling it quits was the right decision.
Vijayendra said that he has always been a private person, and thus he did not know how to handle the situation. Vijayendra and Preeti had been trying to work through their differences for years before they began living separately in 2022. Three years later, in 2025, their divorce was finalised. The actor explained that decisions like divorce were not taken overnight. He revealed that they had a lot of differences and compatibility issues. He said:
“With time, I realised that instead of people making assumptions, it’s better to clear the air. Such decisions are not taken overnight. We started having a lot of differences and compatibility issues, which escalated with time. It’s not that we didn’t try to resolve our issues, but eventually things didn’t work, and we separated in 2022.”
Vijayendra shared that the decision to get a divorce was mutual. While their decision to separate was mutual, it became difficult because they have their 10-year-old daughter, Kimaya. Vijayendra said both he and Preeti tried to resolve their issues and save their relationship for years, primarily for Kimaya. But eventually they realised that maintaining separate lives would give their daughter a healthier environment. The Udaan actor added that just like other parents, he and Preeti also want the best for their daughter, Kimaya.

Vijayendra Kumeria was reportedly born on October 12, 1986, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He made his TV debut with the daily soap opera Chotti Bahu. In 2014, Vijayendra got a lead role in Colors TV’s Shastri Sisters and shared screen space with Ishita Ganguly. He rose to fame with Udaan. Coming to his personal life, Vijayendra is single and co-parenting Kimaya with his ex-wife, Preeti Bhatia.
