The upcoming Tamil movie Jana Nayagan is still waiting for its official certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. The film was originally scheduled for a grand theatrical release in January for the Pongal festival. However, a complaint from an examining committee member pushed the movie to a revising committee, causing a five-month delay. Despite legal efforts from the makers, no relief has been granted by the courts yet.
Producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions has addressed the media regarding the status of the film. He stated that the team is waiting for the censor certificate. He assured fans that the release date will be announced well in advance once the certificate is secured. The producer also mentioned that the movie will get a massive worldwide release.
The film’s lead actor Vijay has recently become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, matching the movie’s title. Reports state that Vijay even asked the producer to cut his Cannes visit short to manage the situation.
Jana Nayagan is directed by H Vinoth and produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions. The film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It stars Vijay, Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles.
