VISAKHAPATNAM: Minister for MSME and NRI Empowerment Relations Kondapalli Srinivas on Sunday said regular yoga practice leads not only to good health but also to happiness and prosperity, and urged people to make it an integral part of their daily lives.
Participating in the “Yogandhra” thematic yoga programme at Ankanna Cheruvu in Nelivada village of Bondapalli mandal as part of the 12th International Yoga Day celebrations, the minister described yoga as one of India’s greatest gifts to humanity.
Recalling the Covid-19 pandemic, he said yoga, Surya Namaskars and pranayama had helped him maintain his health during difficult times. He noted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is promoting yoga on a large scale with the goal of building a healthier society.
The minister urged people to practice yoga regularly rather than limiting it to a single day of observance. He particularly encouraged women, who shoulder significant household responsibilities, to adopt yoga for physical fitness and mental well-being.
Collector Ram Sundar Reddy said yoga has the unique ability to rejuvenate both the body and mind. He stressed that yoga helps people manage stress and advised everyone to devote at least 30 minutes daily to yoga or physical exercise.
Several public representatives, officials from government departments, workers and villagers participated in the programme.
