The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned YSRC MP Avinash Reddy — listed as accused 8 — on Wednesday regarding the murder case of former MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy. It is understood that the agency sought to gather crucial information related to the case, specifically questioning him about financial transactions that took place before and after the murder.

Avinash Reddy was questioned on matters such as where the ₹40 crore came from, how it was obtained, who arranged it, to whom it was given and for what reason. During the ED raids conducted at Avinash’s residence on August 21, ₹24 lakh in cash and two bank lockers were seized.

Avinash Reddy appeared for the ED questioning with the relevant bank documents. The agency had previously questioned his father, Bhaskar Reddy, as well. Almost everyone involved in this case has been questioned, with the exception of Uday Kumar Reddy. The interrogation of Avinash Reddy was conducted based on the statements recently obtained from Erra Gangi Reddy and Dastagiri.

In this case, Erra Gangi Reddy is listed as A1, Yadati Sunil Yadav as A2, Gajjala Uma Shankar Reddy as A3, and Shaik Dastagiri as A4. However, Dastagiri turned approver and provided full information to the investigating officers.

The CBI named Devireddy Shankar Reddy as A5, Uday Kumar Reddy as A6, Bhaskar Reddy (Avinash Reddy’s father) as A7, and Avinash Reddy as A8 in the charge sheet. Avinash Reddy was primarily questioned regarding issues such as a deal involving ₹40 crore and money laundering.
