Vogue Williams recently gave birth to her fourth child, a baby boy called Remy Valentine Matthews, and the Irish celeb has now revealed the parenting criticism she got online

Vogue Williams hit back at a woman who posted a critical comment accusing her of “breaking maternity law” — and the initial sender soon backtracked.

The Irish television presenter gave birth to Remy Valentine on September 1 and her newborn son is the fourth child she has had with husband Spencer Matthews. And since welcoming the boy, she has resumed her various commitments, from modelling to podcasting. And in her latest episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me, she opened up to Celebrity Traitors star and co-host Joanne McNally about the recent disparaging analysis of her as a mum.

After lifting up little Remy, who had his back to the camera, comedian Joanne said: “There’s the baby. Look at the baby. Forgot about him.” Responding, Vogue, 40, said: “Someone left a comment on my and Amber’s pod and they were like ‘a mother should not be out with their baby at all from a month old’ blah blah blah. Like going on this rant about there’s a maternity law.

“I was like, there’s no maternity law! And then I was like, hang on a second, I’m quite clearly in my bedroom with the baby as well. Anyway, I told her I agreed with her and that women should stay at home for at least one to two years with the baby after giving birth. She deleted the comment.” Joanne meanwhile replied: “We all know — nobody polices new mothers better than women.”

Last month the mum posted a series of photographs including of Spencer and their three older kids, Theodore, eight, Gigi, six, and Otto, four, meeting the newest addition of the family. She captioned it: “Our beautiful baby boy has arrived safely… The house is bursting with excitement, love and happiness and we couldn’t be more delighted.”

Not long before giving birth, Vogue said on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast that Spencer and her had planned to call their son Elivs, but inputs from family members discouraged them.

She said: “We have changed our baby name — we have no name. Spenny has been getting a few phone calls from family members regarding the name.”

Despite liking the name, Vogue acknowledged that she was never fully satisfied with it, adding: “I haven’t ever been 100% comfortable with it.” She stated that it was “such a big name to take on when you’re little or trying to get a job when you’re older”.

This week she also appeared on Heart Radio where she was asked why she decided on the name. She said: “We liked the name Remy, it was on our list. I was using ChatGPT a lot and I was like, I don’t want everyone to have the name. But only old men in France are called Remy.”

Jamie Theakston then made Vogue laugh by asking if he was named after rats like in the Ratatouille film. And although she said she had forgotten about that “great movie”, she added that the name Rocket was considered at one point, but joked that it “must have been the hormones”.
