Man recovering in Perth hospital after crocodile attack
A West Australian man continues to recover in hospital from his injuries after being attacked by a large crocodile at the weekend.
The victim, Jimmy, aged in his 20s, was sleeping in a swag on a beach at a popular camping spot about 100 kilometres north of Broome when he was attacked.
Parks and Wildlife say it’s the second incident in the Kimberley region this year.
Jimmy, who was flown to Royal Perth Hospital for surgery, says he is grateful for the well-wishes.
He is currently in a stable condition.

Welcome to our live news blog
Good morning and welcome to our live news blog for this Wednesday, the 22nd of April, 2026.
Making headlines today, Megan Neal and Ben Morey were excited to move into their East Victoria Park duplex in 2022. The house was a little run-down, but it was in a great location, and the $400-per-week rent was manageable for such a centrally located place.
Nearly four years later, they’re paying $310 more per week, and the maintenance issues have grown into bigger problems, with water leaking through the roof during rain and mould growing in the laundry.
Now Morey has found work on the east coast, and they’ve decided to uproot their lives to avoid WA’s crushing rental crisis.
