Perth man charged after dramatic police take-down on freeway on-ramp
A man arrested in a dramatic take down by police on a Mitchell Freeway on-ramp yesterday morning has been charged over a string of domestic violence and driving-related offences.
The 44-year-old Clarkson man was spotted by police driving in Wangara around 7.50am, but as officers attempted to arrest him on an outstanding family violence matter, he allegedly drove his red Ford Falcon into a police car before taking off.
A short time later, he again refused to stop when he was spotted in Marangaroo. A police chase ensured but was quickly abandoned for safety reasons.
At 8.20am, the driver entered the Mitchell Freeway from Warwick Road, where he collided with a number of stationary vehicles in heavy traffic.
