Hyderabad: Telangana Waqf Board chairman Azmatullah Husseini on Monday stressed that all cases involving Wakf properties and the interests of the Wakf Board should be handled on priority and that there should be no avoidable delay in filing counters. He was speaking at a meeting to review the status of cases pending before the Telangana High Court and the Waqf Tribunal, with particular emphasis on the timely preparation and filing of counter affidavits on behalf of the Board.
It was decided that the cases entrusted to standing counsels would be distributed in an equitable and systematic manner, so as to ensure effective handling of the litigation and timely representation of the Telangana Wakf Board before the courts and tribunals.
Husseini also directed that adequate staff be posted in the legal section to strengthen its functioning and to facilitate prompt processing of court cases, preparation and transmission of instructions, maintenance of case records, monitoring of hearing dates and coordination with the standing counsels.
Waqf Board chief executive officer Asadullah also stressed the need for close coordination among the legal section, standing counsels and field/concerned sections of the Board for expeditious disposal and effective management of pending litigation.
