Warangal: Political differences between Warangal East MLA and former minister Konda Surekha and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (Kuda) chairperson Gundu Sudharani have surfaced ahead of the Ursu Dasara celebrations.

Surekha visited Rangaleela Maidan on Tuesday and inspected the arrangements for the celebrations following an invitation from the Ursu Dasara festival committee.

She was accompanied by the district collector, Warangal police commissioner, municipal commissioner and revenue officials.

Sudharani and Kuda officials were not present.

No official reason was cited for their absence, while the development led to a discussion in political circles over the ongoing differences between the two leaders.

The Ursu Dasara celebrations require coordination among various departments for parking, electricity, sanitation, security and roads.

The absence of the Kuda chairperson and officials from the inspection raised questions over coordination among elected representatives and government agencies ahead of the festival.

Locals said the Ursu Dasara is a festival attended by people and devotees from different sections and should not be affected by political differences.
