Brandin Podziemski has earned a long-term home with the Golden State Warriors, and the young guard is not taking it for granted. The Warriors agreed to a five-year, $110 million rookie-scale extension with Podziemski on Saturday, locking up one of their most dependable young players through the 2031-32 season.

Speaking to reporters afterward, the 23-year-old made it clear how much the commitment meant to him.

“I’m obviously super grateful for the situation I’m in. A lot of people contributed to my success,” Podziemski said. “I’m grateful for this organization taking a leap with faith in me and wanting me here for the future.”

The deal is reportedly fully guaranteed and includes a mutual option for the fifth season along with a trade kicker, according to ESPN. Agent Bill Duffy confirmed the terms.

Golden State’s investment comes after Podziemski’s best season yet. He appeared in all 82 games in 2025-26, the only Warriors player and one of just 18 players in the NBA to do so. He set career highs across the board, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.08 steals in 28.5 minutes per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.

His scoring has climbed in each of his first three seasons since the Warriors selected him 19th overall out of Santa Clara in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The front office and coaching staff were quick to praise the move. “He’s a durable, skilled, two-way player that makes our team better each time he takes the court,” general manager Mike Dunleavy said.

Head coach Steve Kerr called the agreement a “win-win” for both sides. “I’m thrilled for Brandin and his family, really happy for us,” the 4-time NBA champion coach said.

The extension is the latest in a busy stretch for Golden State. The Warriors recently extended Stephen Curry and re-signed Draymond Green, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II, keeping much of their veteran core in place around their rising guard.

For Podziemski, the new deal brings security, but it also comes with higher expectations. The Warriors are betting that the steady, two-way play he showed last season is only the beginning, and he now has five years to prove that faith was well placed.
