The NFL’s best story in 2024 is looking to rebound in 2026.
As fans are well aware, Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders were unable to replicate their storybook ’24 season last year.
Daniels, 25, went down in Week 2. Then, Week 7. After that, Week 9. Finally, the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was ruled out for the rest of the season after a left elbow injury in Week 14.
In total, he missed 10 games over the course of the year and head coach Dan Quinn’s club finished the campaign 5-12.
“It hurt to know that I didn’t get it done,” Quinn said. “I’ve got to gain something from this.”
And, now that the NFL has unveiled their schedule, we know how Quinn and co. have to “get it done” against this year.
Notable opponents headed to their home Northwest Stadium in ’26 include Sam Darnold’s defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks (Sept. 27), Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles (Nov. 1), Matthew Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams (Nov. 8), C.J. Stroud’s Houston Texans (Dec. 13) and Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys on either Jan. 9 or 10 in the final game of the season.
To make sure they’re ready to take on this stacked slate, general manager Adam Peters spent many tireless nights strengthening the roster to make sure they’re ready to return to the playoffs.
Notable signings include star defensive end Odafe Oweh, role-filling running back Rachaad White, speedy linebacker Leo Chenal, sneaky cornerback Amik Robertson and tight end Chig Okonkwo.
They join fan favorites Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Daron Payne, Josh Conerly Jr. and Frankie Luvu along with blue chip draft pick Sonny Styles from Ohio State.
All that’s missing is you.
