Eva Green sustained a leg injury while filming for the third series of Netflix smash hit, Wednesday, just outside of Dublin
Eva Green was rushed to hospital this week with a terrifying leg injury after sustaining an accident while filming the Netflix smash hit TV show, Wednesday.
The actress, originally from France, is making her debut appearance in the third series of the show, which is a spin-off of classic ‘90s favourite, the Addams Family.
But while filming on the set, Eva had to undergo a trip to the hospital following a horror injury to her leg.
A source said of the incident: “This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances.
“Medics were called in and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment [for the injury] and is now recovering well.”
Eva’s accident took place on set near Dublin, where the latest series of the worldwide smash hit is being filmed.
Production and filming was stopped temporarily while the 45-year-old sought medical care, with filming being postponed to the end of the month in a bid to accommodate her recovery.
The actress, who first gained fame playing opposite Daniel Craig in his first Bond movie, Casino Royale, said she was excited about being involved in Wednesday.
“I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckooness to the Addams Family. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world.”
Eva will be taking on the role as Aunt Ophelia, the mysterious and apparently troubled sister of Wednesday’s mum, Morticia Adams.
She was confirmed for the role in November 2025. Ophelia’s arrival onto the show was teased at the end of the last series when ehe was shown from behind writing ‘Wednesday must die’ on a wall.
Wednesday has been huge for Netflix, and has gone on to become one of the biggest and most loved shows for the streaming platform around the world.
A source said of the series: “Wednesday is a huge priority for Netflix. But since it became such a streaming success, the producers have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the production secret.
“The budget for the show is enormous. No expense has been spared in securing huge name actors.” Each episode of the show, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, is believed to cost around £15million to make.
