
The WNBA’s Aug. 2 trade deadline is a little more than two weeks away, and the Liberty are one of the most intriguing teams to monitor.
The Liberty want to be championship contenders.
They fired Sandy Brondello last offseason, a year after winning the franchise’s first title, and hired longtime Warriors assistant coach Chris DeMarco with the hopes he could reinvigorate a team that fell short of its believed potential in 2025.
They re-signed their Big 3 of Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones. They added Satou Sabally and Pauline Astier, and welcomed the return of Betnijah Laney-Hamilton.
