At the Microland STEAM MakersLab, students are finding inspiration for innovation in the world around them.
An everyday walk through elephant territory led to a system that detects elephants and alerts nearby villages. Sunflowers inspired a solar tracker. The challenge of detecting pest outbreaks early in tea plantations led to a technology-based solution. And snake and insect bites inspired a tool for faster identification and first-aid guidance.
Through the Microland STEAM MakersLab Initiative with Learning Links Foundation, 5,000+ students are getting hands-on with AI, sensors, coding and robotics, turning local problems they face into possible solutions using appropriate technology.
Because innovation doesn’t always begin with answers. Sometimes, it begins with a child asking, “Why?”
