A while back, the Call Her Daddy podcast host took to her Instagram handle to share the good news with her fans. Earlier, this month, in May 2026, rumours swirled that there had been tension in the marriage. Putting the rumours to rest, Alex and Matt shared the joyous news. Amid this, an old statement on not wanting kids in their 20s resurfaces.

Alex Cooper embraced motherhood in her 30s

Alex Cooper and her husband, Matt Kaplan, are on cloud nine as they are expecting their first baby together after two years of marital bliss. For those unaware, the couple got married on April 6, 2024. The Call Her Daddy podcast host embraced motherhood in her 30s. A while back, Alex took to her Instagram handle and shared two snaps featuring her and her husband, Matt. In the now-viral pictures, the parents-to-be seemed lost in each other’s gaze. In the second snap, Matt adored Alex’s slightly grown baby bump. Sharing the snaps, Alex wrote, “Our Family.”

Alex Cooper opened up about not wanting kids in her 20s

Earlier, in January 2026, Alex Cooper sat for a conversation with Jeannette McCurdy on her podcast, Call Her Daddy. During the candid conversation, Jeannette asked Alex whether she wanted kids. In response, the Call Her Daddy podcast host revealed that in her 20s, she didn’t want kids. In fact, at the time, she didn’t have any thoughts about marriage as well. However, as she is married now, she wants kids. Alex explained that the thoughts didn’t change all of a sudden after marriage. She had to do a lot of self-work. She was quoted as saying:

“I think if you asked me in my twenties, I really didn’t think I did. Now I got married and I want kids. It was just like a lot of self-work that I had to do on myself. Not saying that, like, you have to do self-work if you want to have kids, just for me, in the place I was in my life, I couldn’t even fathom it. And then something changed. I was just like, you know what, I actually think I do.”

Earlier, in 2025, on another episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Alex opened up about the possibility of starting a family with her husband, Matt. Alex mentioned that she and Matt were actively trying to figure out when to have kids. She revealed that initially, both of them were quite excited to have a baby. Alex stopped taking the birth control medication for the first time since she was 16. The medical switch caused hormonal fluctuations and caused her pain. She was quoted as saying:

“I want to share something extremely personal that I have been holding onto for the past year. One of the decisions that we have been actively trying to figure out is when we want to try and have kids.”

Alex began to have doubts and wondered about her own fertility. Thus, she shared her negative thoughts with her husband, Matt. Becoming emotional, Alex revealed how Matt supported her decision to wait before conceiving. Matt confessed his love for her and assured her that he would always stay beside her. Alex was quoted as saying:

“I remember starting to have doubts. I just kind of word vomited it all. I was like, ‘Matt … I need you to really understand what I’ve been thinking, and what I’m going through.’ Matt grabbed me … and he was like, ‘Look at me … How long have you been carrying this? I love you so much. When it is the right time, it will be the right time.'”
