Daniel Brocklebank was a firm favourite on Coronation Street until his character Billy Mayhew was killed off earlier this year

Billy Mayhew was killed off from Coronation Street earlier this year – but what has actor Daniel Brocklebank been up to since?

Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) first set foot on the cobbles back in 2014 – and since then, he’s become a firm favourite. He’s also had his fair share of big storylines – from murder to drug addiction.

As well as his hard-hitting storylines, Billy has also had several love interests on the soap, including Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and husband Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).

However, in January, Billy was killed off in the dramatic Corriedale crossover episode when the minibus he was driving crashed and caught fire. But since his shock cobbles exit, what has Daniel been up to?

Daniel’s new look

While on Coronation Street, Daniel was instantly recognisable for sporting a grey beard as Billy. After leaving, though, the actor underwent a major transformation, revealing he had shaved off his beard.

The TV star took to Instagram in March and shared his new clean-shaven look for his next role in the stage thriller Double Double, which ran at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester from 28 April to 30 May.

Alongside a selfie, Daniel penned: “First time clean-shaven in over 10 years, ready to start the next job. Yay or nay?? I can’t decide….”

Daniel’s ‘split’ from boyfriend

Daniel’s love life has often made headlines over the years. In 2023, he started dating Jordan Coulthard, who is an actor, musician, and former police officer. The pair went Instagram-official a few years ago.

Recently, though, it was reported that Daniel and Jordan had split. A source told The Sun: “They parted ways some time ago as it wasn’t working out, but they are still friendly.

“Daniel hasn’t shared any snaps of Jordan on his social media for over a year, since last April. He did comment on one of his snaps in December, but since then, they have not publicly interacted on socials, although they are still following each other.

“Meanwhile, Jordan has no trace of his relationship with Daniel on social media, and has recently been sharing a series of shirtless snaps which his followers have been enjoying in the comments.”

The Daily Mirror has contacted Daniel’s representatives for comment.

Daniel is an avid dog lover and regularly shares pictures of his pet pooches: Dachshunds Colin, Jean, and Dorris. He adopted Colin in 2019 after the pup was seized from an illegal puppy smuggling ring.

In March, though, Daniel had to rush his pet pooch to the vet after she fell ill. Daniel updated his followers as he wrote: “Emergency vet’s trip with Jean this morning. She’s in safe hands with the Animal Trust Vets team. Their care is second to none.”

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
