The Bison are licking their wounds after a demoralizing 34-0 loss to North Carolina Central last week, dropping the team to 1-1 in conference play and 4-5 overall. Howard was forced to play without several key starters on Saturday, including quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins and running back Eden James.
On the other hand, South Carolina State is still in contention for a bid to the Celebration Bowl. The Bulldogs are currently leading the MEAC standings with a stronger overall record, though they share the same conference record as NC Central, 2-2.
