International football’s most prestigious honor will be given out today.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on DAZN.

A 30-player shortlist was announced earlier this year that includes eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and last year’s winner, Osumane Dembélé, who could become just the 11th man to win more than once.

The women’s Ballon d’Or will go to a new player this year, as three-time winner and current award-holder Aitana Bonmatí was left off the shortlist after she missed most of the season with a broken leg.

This year’s awards will take into account achievements from Aug. 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026 (the date of the 2026 World Cup final) for the men, and Aug. 3, 2025 to Aug 16, 2026 (the date of the women’s Africa Cup of Nations final) for women.

The 70th annual Ballon d’Or ceremony will move out of its traditional home of Paris as the organizers honor Sir Stanley Matthews, the first Ballon d’Or winner, in London, England.

What time does the Ballon d’Or get announced?

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony begins today, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. ET.
