The Chicago White Sox take a 1-0 American League Division series lead into Game 2 on Monday, Oct. 5 against the Cleveland Guardians, being played at Progressive Field after an off day Sunday.

“We still like where we’re at,” Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Sunday. “We still have a great opportunity ahead of us to even the series tomorrow and go to Chicago with a chance to win it.”
Left-hander Anthony Kay starts for the White Sox with Gavin Williams taking the mound for the Guardians in Game 2. Making its first postseason appearance since 2021, Chicago has won all three of its postseason games after sweeping the AL wild card series against the Houston Astros.
