Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in the spotlight after he was forced to apologize shortly after Carson Kvapil secured his first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory. During the post-race celebration, Carson had spun his tyres across the Yard of Bricks. While NASCAR had already warned the team not to do a burnout on the bricks, Dale Jr. failed to reach Carson as his radio was already unplugged.
Addressing the situation on social media, he accepted responsibility for the same. Amid the controversy, the focus has shifted to Dale Jr.’s personal life, especially his wife, Amy Reimann.
Who is Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife, Amy Reimann?
According to reports, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife, Amy Reimann, attended the University of Kentucky. Here, she was a cheerleader and a part of the Wildcat Danzers team. She graduated from the university with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design in 2015.
Following this, Amy went to work at Wakefield Beasley & Associates as a Project Coordinator. Later, she also served as the Director of Micamy Design Studio’s Charlotte location. Amy’s speciality lies in designing corporate offices, hospitality, residential, medical offices, clubhouses, high-end residential, showrooms, and more.
Coming to Amy’s relationship with Dale Jr., they met for the first time in 2009 after he hired her and her firm to design the interior of his Kannapolis home, which is located outside Charlotte. It is believed that things turned romantic between them after Amy had completed her work. Initially, the couple decided to keep things private and succeeded in keeping their relationship out of the public eye for 2 years.

Amy and Dale Jr. debuted their relationship in December 2011 when they attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champions Week Awards Ceremony together. During an interview, Dale Jr. revealed that soon after this, his fans began questioning when he would propose to Amy. He said:
“The people we interact with on Twitter are, ‘When are you going to do it? Pop the question already.’ She gets it more than I do: People telling her all the time I need to put a ring on it. When I turned 40, it really ramped up. People are like, ‘Man, your time is running out. Amy is a good girl, what are you waiting for?'”
Finally, Dale Jr. proposed to Amy on June 17, 2015, while they were vacationing in Germany. He revealed that he chose the 1,000-year-old church in the town of Speyer to propose at, as several of his ancestors were baptized and wed there. He said:
“To do it at that particular time, that moment while we were in that church, it made the moment more memorable for her. I thought it was just a great place to do it. I thought about it, and every other spot that I could think of just didn’t measure up. “It just wasn’t good enough, especially for her.”
They tied the knot a year later, on December 31, 2016, at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, N.C. Over the years, Amy and Dale Jr. have welcomed two children. Their first child, Isla Rose Earnhardt, was born in April 2018, while their second child, Nicole Lorraine Earnhardt, was born in October 2020.
Amy Reimann and Dave Earnhardt Jr. have credited therapy for keeping their relationship healthy
Like most couples, Amy and Dale Jr. also had some ups and downs in their relationship. The NASCAR alum had admitted that he was a “really immature person” when he first got together with Amy. Thankfully, going to couples therapy has helped their relationship a lot. He was quoted as saying:
“Me and Amy were having a hard time figuring out how to make our relationship work… Every day was like grinding gears. Just a lot of tension and disagreement and misunderstanding, and there were great times – and then there were days when we would both sort of withdraw and get frustrated with each other and not communicate and hold grudges.”
