Deion Sanders is one of the most well-known names in the football world. He has enjoyed Hall of Fame honors, two Super Bowls, and a vibrant career as a college football coach. Beyond that, his personal life has also grabbed a lot of attention over the years.
For those unaware, Sanders is currently dating Karrueche Tran. She has already become a part of Sanders’ family, as was evidenced by her emotional reaction when his grandchild, Snow, called her “grandma.” This has led many to become more curious about Tran and her relationship with Deion Sanders.
Meet Deion Sanders’ girlfriend, Karrueche Tran
According to reports, Deion Sanders’ girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was born on May 17, 1988, and grew up in Los Angeles. She briefly spoke about her background during her appearance on Sway’s Universe in September 2017. She revealed that she was raised by her mother and her later father, who grew up in Compton. Tran’s upbringing played a major part in the kind of person she is today.
Karrueche Tran initially studied graphic design at a community college before she began working as a personal shopper at Nordstrom. She has also worked as a personal assistant in Los Angeles. Tran first came into the spotlight when she began dating singer Chris Brown back in 2010. At the same time, she also started modeling for some local brands.
Tran rose to wider prominence when she landed the role of ‘Vivian Johnson’ in the award-winning series The Bay. For her role in the series, she won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program. She also won three Daytime Emmy Awards for producing the series. Since then, she has appeared on several TV shows and movies.
Deion Sanders and Karrueche Tran’s relationship
The news of Deion Sanders and Karrueche Tran dating first came on July 28, 2025. This was just after Tran was seen in a video titled For Your Glory, released by the former NFL star’s son, Deion Sanders Jr.’s media company. For those unaware, Sanders had to be hospitalized after he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and the video in question documented that time.
The clip showed Karrueche Tran standing beside Deion Sanders’ hospital bed and explaining the situation. While outlining the surgery plans, she could be heard saying, “We’re dealing with bladder cancer.” At one point in the video, the actress was seen holding her boyfriend’s hand as he was wheeled through the hospital.
During a press conference in Boulder, Colorado, on July 28, 2025, Sanders confirmed that doctors had succeeded in obliterating the cancer. However, despite the speculation about his relationship with Karrueche Tran, the duo kept quiet for months. Finally, on December 27, 2025, the former NFL star shared a holiday photo with his lady love on Instagram, officially confirming that they were together.
Earlier this year, in February 2026, Deion Sanders opened up about his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, and her best qualities. In an interview with PEOPLE, he said that he loves Tran’s “honesty of heart and soul.” He claimed that there are “so many other desirable things” about his girlfriend; however, this was still what he loved the most.
Sanders also spoke about how much of a support system Tran was for him as he underwent treatment for bladder cancer. He said:
“She was there. She held me down. She kept me upright. She kept me straight. Kept me positive. I’m already positive. But she did the doggone thing.”
