Who Is John Zambetti? Meet Jane Seymour’s Doctor-Turned-Fiance Who Proposed In Most Unexpected Way

After being heartbroken multiple times, Jane Seymour is set to walk down the aisle once again. She recently confirmed that she had gotten engaged to her partner, John Zambetti, after nearly 3 years together. Although the proposal was all romantic, it also had a chaotic twist, which left the couple laughing. In turn, the 75-year-old actress admitted that finding love again in her later years has been one of the happiest experiences of her life. Who Is John Zambetti?

John Zambetti is more than just being Jane Seymour’s fiancé. He has spent several decades of his life working as an emergency room physician. Simultaneously, he built a successful career in music. John is a singer-songwriter and producer, too. In turn, he co-founded surf-rock band, The Malibooz. Eventually, he worked with some of the biggest names in the industry during his music career and continues to do so. However, despite dating one of Hollywood’s most popular icons, John prefers to stay out of the spotlight. 

According to reports, John Zambetti and Jane Seymour were introduced by their children, who believed they would be a good match. The couple’s sons were connected through the music industry. In turn, they planned a meeting between Jane and John. Gradually, the blind date turned into a serious relationship. In fact, Jane and John went public with their relationship in 2023. Since then, they often share glimpses of their time with fans. 

The couple quickly connected over their shared interests, life experiences, and strong family values. John was married for 43 years. But his wife passed away. Meanwhile, Jane was married four times before getting divorced. But despite their past, they developed a comfortable companionship. 

John Zambetti and Jane Seymour had a hilariously unexpected proposal 

After dating for three years, John Zambetti and Jane Seymour had already discussed spending their lives together. But John wanted to make the commitment official with a proposal. In turn, he considered multiple ideas, including having Rolling Stones frontman, Mick Jagger in the surprise. However, in the end, he decided to keep things simple. John decided to pop the question to Jane at their Malibu home on Valentine’s Day, which falls before Jane’s birthday. For the special moment, he got down on one knee and gave her a unique engagement ring with two stones. 

According to him, it symbolizes the two lives that had come together after years of individual journeys. But things turned chaotic when John opened the ring box, and the ring popped out and fell on the bed. When he tried to get it back, he climbed under the bed and got stuck. Eventually, Jane had to help him pull out. At the same time, neither of them was wearing clothes at that time. Later, Jane said that the situation left them laughing and gave another example of the joy and comfort in their bond. Recalling the moment, she said:

“Serious bedhead involved. But the funniest part was that he couldn’t get up afterward. His knee was now stuck from being under the bed, and I’m not strong enough to pull him up because he weighs almost twice what I do. We looked at one another and started laughing hysterically.”

Jane Seymour’s relationship journey 

Before finding her calm in John, Jane had several high-profile relationships. She married four times before meeting John. The actress first married Michael Attenborough in the early 1970s, when she was 20. Later, she was briefly married to his close friend and actor, Geoffrey Planer. Jane then married her business manager, David Flynn. The duo welcomed two kids, Katherine and Sean. But they had a messy split after David invested in a risky real estate scheme, leaving Jane bankrupt with USD 9 million in debt. 

She was briefly homeless before finding success with Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Lastly, Jane married filmmaker, James Keach in 1993, and they welcomed twin sons. But after more than two decades together, they filed for separation. After her fourth divorce, Jane candidly spoke about the heartbreaks she experienced over the years, which made it difficult for her to trust again. But John Zambetti has certainly changed things for her.
