It’s time to determine which varsity sports team in the Lower Hudson Valley is Top Team of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital, for the period from October 5 to October 11.
Each week, we will accept nominations from athletic departments and team coaches. Then you vote on which team should be Team of the Week.

We encourage departments and coaches to participate. This weekly poll is open to varsity teams (not football) from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam only. Football teams will be included in our Football Team of the Week poll. Email Phil Strum at pstrum@lohud.com with any other questions.
The poll, which will run Sunday-Tuesday throughout the school year, closes at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 13.

Top Team of the Week is presented by White Plains Hospital
Blind Brook girls volleyball
The Trojans, coached by Gina Carlone, went 3-0 in matches during the week, sweeping Rye Neck in a home and home and topping Woodlands 3-1 in the school’s Teacher Appreciation Game. Sophomore outside hitter Annabel Rosenfeld picked up her 500th career kill in that match. The team wrapped their week going 4-2 in pool play at the Pelham tournament, falling in the semifinals to Maria Regina.

Hendrick Hudson girls soccer
Over the last week, the Sailors had league wins over Westlake, Irvington and Sleepy Hollow. Hendrick Hudson, coached by Bill Pagel, outscored the opposition 15-3 over the three games with Kinsley Steinhiser, Bridget Couch, Julianna Povella and Skyler Selkin figuring in on 14 of the 15 goals.
Mahopac girls cross country
The Wolf Pac, coached by Kelley Posch, won the Section 1 League E championship meet at Croton Point Park on Oct. 7. Senior Kira Waring won the 5,000-meter race in 19:09.55
Salesian boys soccer
The Eagles, coached by Kevin Gray, picked up a 3-0 win over St. Peter’s. Zachary Mansour scored three goals and Maxim Rauchman had the clean sheet in goal.

White Plains field hockey
The Tigers, coached by Kasey Rubenstein, shut out Rye 1-0. Olivia Doria scored the winning goal, assisted by McKenna Austin. Mila Tomlin had 10 saves in the shutout. White Plains, which has an 8-4 record, lost to state powerhouse Mamaroneck, 2-0, with Tomlin also picking up 10 saves in that contest.
Woodlands girls volleyball
The Falcons, coached by Fernando Santos, had a four-match winning streak before a loss to Blind Brook and a bounce back victory. The team has a 7-4 record. Angelina Delgado had 28 digs, 14 assists, seven kills against Albertus Magnus, and 26 digs, 13 assists and two aces against Blind Brook.
