He recently popped the question in a romantic setting as he starts a new chapter of his life. Ryan Lochte and Molly Gillihan reportedly first met through their children’s school in Gainesville, Florida. Soon, they developed a connection. The Olympic medalist has publicly clarified that he pursued Molly after his separation from his ex-wife. So, she was not the reason for his split with Kayla Reid. He has also debunked the speculation that Molly was in any way responsible for the breakdown of his marriage. The couple went for their first date at Prime and Pearl, a restaurant in Gainesville. It later became the location of their engagement, too. 

Soon after, they made their relationship public in July 2025 by sharing photos on social media. Eventually, they connected their lives, supported each other’s careers, and moved into a bigger home when they became serious about the relationship. Ryan Lochte and Molly Gillihan have formed a blended family of eight. Molly is a mother to daughters Layla and Maggie and a son, Oliver. Meanwhile, Ryan has three kids, Caiden, Liv and Georgia, with his ex-wife. So, they often shared how the children have bonded and adjusted to their life together.

So, he also brought Molly back to the restaurant where they had their first date. He lined the path with rose petals and candles at their table. Notably, they sat in the same table where they had their first date. But, waiting on the table was a card asking the big question. When Molly read it, Ryan dropped to one knee and proposed with an oval-shaped diamond. She said yes instantly, and they celebrated with a kiss. In fact, Ryan has admitted that they will soon tie the knot.
