After her emotional update, many fans are digging in to know more about her personal life and past marriage to singer and producer, The-Dream.

Who is The-Dream?

The Dream and Nivea

Terius Nash, better known as “The Dream,” was born on September 20, 1977. He is one of the most influential figures in modern R&B and pop music. Apart from releasing his albums, the singer also works on songwriting and producing. He has made several chart-topping hits for some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Throughout his career, he worked with some of the biggest artists in the music industry. The-Dream produced songs such as Rihanna’s Umbrella, Beyoncé’s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) and Justin Bieber’s Baby

All this work helped The-Dream win multiple Grammy Awards and made him one of the most respected thinkers in the industry. Outside his work, he also released successful solo projects such as Love/Hate, Love vs. Money, and Love King.

The-Dream and Nivea first crossed paths in the early 2000s after her split with Lil Wayne. At the time, The-Dream got involved in her music career and became the primary producer for her second studio album, Complicated. Eventually, the professional partnership turned into a romantic relationship.

The-Dream and Nivea tied the knot in December 2004. Later, they welcomed three children together. The duo’s first daughter, Navy Talia Nash, was born in 2005, followed by twins, London Nash and Christian Nash, the next year. At the same time, the couple supported each other’s careers while balancing life as parents.

Why did The-Dream and Nivea separate?

Although The-Dream and Nivea’s marriage appeared strong in the initial years, they parted ways in 2007. Later, it took a year to formalize things between them. The Dream explained that the decision to end their marriage happened because his career was rapidly changing. So, he realized that he was becoming a different person. In turn, he decided to walk away rather than risk treating Nivea unfairly.

But despite their split, the former couple has remained on good terms. In fact, they also continue to co-parent their three kids and often reunite to celebrate important milestones. For example, they came together to celebrate their twin’s high-school graduation.

After the split, The-Dream married singer Christina Milian in 2009, while Nivea briefly reunited with her ex, Lil Wayne, and they welcomed a son, Neal. Meanwhile, she also spoke about maintaining a healthy co-parenting bond with The-Dream and how he has always supported her work.
