Who Was Inder Kaur? All About Punjabi Singer Found Dead In Ludhiana Canal After Alleged Kidnapping

According to reports, the body of Punjabi singer and makeup artist, Inder Kaur, who also went by the name of Yashinder Kaur, has finally been found. A latest update by PTI suggests that her body was recovered in a canal in Ludhiana. The tragic news comes after the 29-year-old had been missing since May 13, 2026. 

Inder Kaur found dead

Inder Kaur was found dead on Tuesday morning, May 19, 2026, at around 11 am, days after she was reportedly abducted in Ludhiana. Her family has already identified the body, and it has since been sent to the Civil Hospital in Samrala for a postmortem examination and completion of legal procedures. 

The investigation reportedly began at the beginning of this week after Inder’s brother, Jotinder Singh, filed a police complaint about her disappearance. Based on his statement, the police registered an FIR on May 15, 2026, against Sukhwinder Singh, a.k.a. Sukha, a resident of Moga, and his associate, Karamjit Singh. According to the complaint, on May 13, 2026, Inder Kaur went out in the evening to purchase groceries in her Ford Figo car, following which she never returned home. As repeated calls to her phone went unanswered, her family began looking for her before ultimately turning the case over to the police. 

It was during the course of the investigation that Inder’s family learned she was acquainted with Sukhwinder Singh, who was a resident of Bhalur Village in Moga district. Her family claimed that the singer had befriended Sukhwinder about three years ago on Instagram. Her brother, Jotinder, revealed that the accused had intended to marry his sister, but she refused to marry and continue their relationship after reportedly discovering that Sukhwinder was a married man with children. Inder’s family alleged that he had kidnapped her at gunpoint before he eventually murdered her. It is believed that the singer turning down his marriage proposal was what led him to plot her murder.

According to a report by ABP News, her family also claimed that Sukhwinder had escaped to Canada after the incident but had just recently returned to Punjab before the alleged murder. They alleged that he travelled from Canada to Punjab via Nepal and that he had hired two taxis from Moga to carry out the abduction. After he was done allegedly killing Inder Kaur, he reportedly fled back to Canada using the same travel route through Nepal. 

As of now, the authorities have confirmed that the investigation is still underway. They also added that, according to the outcome of the probe, further action will be taken. However, according to a police officer, Sukhwinder’s father, Pritam Singh and his friend, Karamjit Singh, have already been arrested in the case. Inder’s family and fans remain hopeful for justice in this heartbreaking case, as they continue to remember her not only for her talent but also for the vibrant spirit she had brought to the Punjabi music industry. 

Who was Inder Kaur?

A resident of Jamalpur in Ludhiana, Inder Kaur was born in 1997. She was a singer and makeup artist who had established herself in the Punjabi music industry through her various songs, live performances, and social media activity. She had dropped a number of Punjabi tracks over the years, including hits like Afghan Jatti, Sohna Lagda, Desi Sirre De, Sone Di Wang, Laanedaarni, Kisaan Anthem, Rich Standard, Kado Ti Milegi, Aakad, and more. Inder was a well-known face among regional audiences because of her music and online presence. To mention, on her Instagram handle, Inder has nearly 124k followers.
