A report by Daily Thanthi revealed that K Rajan was travelling inside a car when he had asked the driver to stop the vehicle exactly near the Adyar River. The producer then got out of his car and, reportedly, jumped into the river. After the fire and rescue personnel team came, his body was then sent to a government hospital for further postmortem examination.
