Wild video shows a suspected drunk-driving tourist smashing a car into the front of a packed restaurant in Greece.
The driver, only identified as a 45-year-old non-Greek national, was seen driving the car into the front of the eatery in tourist hotspot Thessaloniki early Sunday, sending diners scattering from their seats.
Remarkably, only three people were injured – which the restaurant’s owners credit to solid planters that took the brunt of the crash, Greek outlet Protothema reported.

“If we didn’t have the planters, we would have funerals,” said the owner, who didn’t wish to be identified.
“I saw terror and panic. It was like watching a movie.”
The driver allegedly tried to flee the scene before cops arrived, and was found to be under the influence following a sobriety test.
“I did not want to escape,” he said after Monday’s court hearing, Protothema reported.
“I backed up because I realized that I had hit people with my car.”
The driver also faces charges of dangerous driving, bodily harm by negligence, and attempting to flee the scene of an accident.
