A woman has been charged with murder after a motorcyclist found dead at a crash scene had injuries inconsistent with a road accident.
Police on Friday confirmed a 53-year-old Cheltenham woman had been charged over the shooting death of a man in Yarram – about 220 kilometres south-east of Melbourne – on January 16, 2024.
At the time, officers had responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on Yarram-Morwell Road, but said some of the man’s injuries were inconsistent with occurring in a crash. The man died at the scene.
Several months after the man’s death, a 39-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were arrested, but released. A 50-year-old woman was also arrested and interviewed at the time of the incident, but released without charge.
