Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman Divyavani died in an acid attack incident on the outskirts of Jangampalli village in Bhikkanur mandal in Kamareddy district.

Divyavani’s mother’s native place is Bhikkanur mandal headquarters, while Divyavani got married to Aravind from Nizamabad town ten years ago. Due to family disputes over the past few months, she had been living in Bhikkanur along with her two children.

On September 11, Divyavani left home leaving her two children behind and did not return, causing concern to her father Madhu, who lodged a complaint with the local Bhikkanur police. Bhikkanur police registered a case of missing.

The police suspect whether Divyavani committed suicide by pouring acid on herself or whether someone else may have poured acid on her and attacked her in the wake of family disputes.

The police then shifted her by ambulance to the Kamareddy Government Hospital for treatment. Officials enquired with the family members about the health condition of Divyavani, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital. As her condition deteriorated, the family members shifted her to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment. She died while undergoing treatment.

Madhu said that his son-in-law Aravind poured acid on his daughter and attacked her. Based on Madhu’s complaint, the Bhikkanur police registered a case and launched an investigation.
