BENGALURU: Over a dispute in their relationship, a 23-year woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover under Mahalakshmi Layout police station on Sunday evening in Bengaluru city while the police secured accused Rajeev on a complaint filed by the deceased’s grandmother.
The victim is identified as Anjali and the complaint from her grandmother Chennamma stated Anjali was in a relationship with Rajeev, a resident of K.P. Agrahara in Bengaluru, for about 6 months. It is alleged Rajeev stabbed Anjali to death and a case has been registered in Mahalakshmi Layout police station.
Sources said Anjali fell in love with another person and enraged over it Rajeev is said to have taken the drastic step to stab her leading to her death. The accused Rajeev faced a couple of criminal cases against him in various police stations of Bengaluru city and the family of Anjali opposed their relationship to turn into a marriage. Rajeev had recently shifted to Rajagopal Nagar under Laggere police station limits of Bengaluru.
Police are verifying various CCTV footage to establish whether Rajeev had planned the attack on Anjali or was a case of spontaneous act. Investigations continue in the case.
In another murder of a woman under Bommanahalli police station, a woman was found dead at her rented house in a building in Bommanahalli on Sunday evening at around 9.50 pm. Police stated the death of the woman was murdered and the cause of death will be investigated.
The deceased woman stayed at the rented house 4 months back and it is said she belonged to West Bengal. Initially, the woman worked at a garment factory and currently she was working as a support staff at a house.
Police are awaiting the post-mortem examination report to establish the cause of death. Meanwhile, suspects in the case were questioned by the police.
