HYDERABAD: BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday said the goal of Viksit Bharat can be achieved only through the empowerment of women. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given top priority to women’s welfare and protection of their rights during his 25 years in public life. He said society would progress only when women excel in all fields on par with men.
Ramchander was speaking at the Angan Milan service programme held at Mallapur under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The programme was organised by BJP Mahila Morcha state president Dr Mekala Shilpa Reddy.
He said Central government schemes, including Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, had brought major changes in society. He said the government was also implementing programmes to provide nutrition to pregnant women, lactating mothers and young children. A strong India can be built only when mothers and children are healthy, Ramchander Rao said.
He wished Modi good health and a long life, and said the Prime Minister should continue to lead the country towards the goal of Viksit Bharat.
Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendar, BJP district president Girivardhan Reddy, BJP state spokesperson Taduri Srinivas, Mahila Morcha leaders, and other party workers attended the programme.
