An ITVX crime drama series has been hailed as so gripping that fans have been binge-watching every episode in one go – and it rivals Breaking Bad and Mad Men for their ‘favourite’
Your next TV binge could be an ITVX crime drama that people say is just as good as Breaking Bad. But according to TV fans on social media, there’s a little-known series out there that will wow fans of hugely popular shows like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and The Sopranos. What’s more, you can watch it on ITVX, meaning you don’t have to pay a penny for a subscription service and can binge it all for free.
The series was shared on Reddit after someone on the TV Suggestions forum asked for recommendations for “the next show to binge” for him and his wife. He said the pair alternate between picking shows, and it’s now his turn – but he has drawn a complete blank on what to suggest.
To give commenters some help, he listed his and his wife’s top five TV shows of all time. His favourites were Mr Robot, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Leftovers, and Better Call Saul, while his wife’s were The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Mad Men, Succession, and Mr Robot.
And one of the recommended shows for a couple with those heavy hitters in their top five was the ITVX series, Unforgotten. After one person suggested it, others replied to say it was among their favourites and agreeing that the couple should give it a chance.
One person said: “Unforgotten. British detective series where they work cold cases.”
To which someone replied: “Wonderful show. A new season should be out soon.”
And another responded: “Our favourite show.”
Unforgotten is not a new series, as it first aired in 2015, but it has been going strong for the past decade and you can now watch all six seasons released so far on ITVX – giving you plenty to binge. What’s more, the drama has been renewed for a seventh season, so even if you do binge-watch every episode, there’s more to come.
The crime drama series follows a team of London detectives led by DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) in seasons one to four, DCI Jessie James (Sinead Keenan) in seasons five and six, and DCI Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) as they solve cold cases.
