‘Worst Ex Ever’ Season 2 Brings Back Wade Wilson’s Brutal Murder Of Kristine Melton And Diane Ruiz

Wade Wilson, also known as the ‘Deadpool Killer’, rose to the limelight when he first appeared in court. While the charges against him were heinous, the internet grew obsessed with his looks. And at the centre of all this were two women who had the misfortune of crossing paths with Wade Wilson, leading to their tragic ends. Who were the two victims of the ‘Deadpool Killer’, Wade Wilson?

Wade Wilson met the 35-year-old Kristine Melton by chance at a Cape Coral bar in 2019. However, when they crossed paths, little did Kristine know she had just met the worst person she could ever have the misfortune to meet. The young woman made the fatal mistake of bringing Wade to her home. The heartless act was just the beginning of what would later turn into a violent spree claiming another innocent life.

The second victim of Wade was the 43-year-old bartender, Diane Ruiz, who was on her way to work. His actions left the entire state of Florida in shock and disturbed by his cruelties. Now, Wade Wilson is back in the documentary show, Worst Ex Ever Season 2 on Netflix and the makers have once again recounted these events in explicit detail.

The night out that turned fatal for Kristine Melton

October 6, 2019, a night that Kristine Melton’s family will never forget. Kristine met Wade Wilson at a bar in Cape Coral, and he convinced her to take him back to her duplex using what he later described to the police as his “charm and good looks”. They spent the night together, but the situation turned deadly once her friend left the home. According to reports, while Kristine was sleeping, Wade strangled her to death, taking her life. However, that was not it; Wade performed his first killing with chilling ease, as he later told the detectives that he simply “bagged her” before moving on to his next target just hours later.

The merciless murder of Diane Ruiz

Wade Wilson didn’t just commit one crime but two murders in less than 24 hours. After leaving the first crime scene, the ‘Deadpool Killer’ spotted Diane Ruiz walking along the road to her job. Seeing the woman alone, he pulled over in the car he had stolen from Kristine Melton and asked her for directions to a local school. However, her decision to help Wade turned fatal; as soon as she got into the vehicle to help him, he attacked her and later compared himself to a lion and his victims to prey.

Wade Wilson boasted about how he could sense her fear. He choked Diane Ruiz and then pushed her out. However, his brutality wasn’t over yet; what he did next was truly gruesome. He got back behind the wheel and ran over her body multiple times, leaving her completely unrecognisable. He later bragged to his father that he ran her over until she “looked like spaghetti.” Her body was later discovered by officials with clear tyre marks across her corpse.

Wade Wilson asked for burgers in exchange for details about his victims’ corpse

Wade Wilson’s father, Steven Testasecca, played a major role in getting the ‘Deadpool Killer’ arrested and later getting a confession out of him. His biological father even encouraged him to tell the police where the remains of his victims were hidden. However, Wade wanted to make a strange deal with Detective, Nicholas Jones. He offered to guide officers to the body if they bought him a burger and fries. At that point, Wade was unaware that police had discovered Diane Ruiz before the call. Wilson laughed about his crimes and flaunted his swastika and thread face tattoos in interviews.

What happened to Wade Wilson?

On October 8, 2019, Wade Wilson was arrested. During his 2024 trial, he tried to disguise his facial tattoos with makeup. However, the jury saw his violent past and all charges, including first-degree murder of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz, were upheld. In August 2024, a judge sentenced Wade to death row. Nonetheless, he has still not received his punishment and is currently held at the Union Correctional Institution while his lawyers appeal the sentence.
