This Lebanese bakery wants you to know that there’s more to Arabic pastries than baklava. (Although it must be said that Youssef’s baklava, especially its pistachio version, is excellent.)

The custard-filled baklava-adjacent warbat, for instance, needs to be on your radar. As does halwet: cream-filled cheese rolls. If you’re eating knafeh (baked cheese pie) in-house and someone asks if you’d like qashta (clotted cream), the answer is always yes.

Good to know: beyond the pastries, the mahalabia (milk pudding) is also deserving of your attention.
