وأعربت المفوضية في بيان لها عن قلقها البالغ وإدانتها الشديدة للتقارير التي تفيد بتعيين ممثل دبلوماسي للكيان الإسرائيلي فيما يسمى “أرض الصومال”، مؤكدة تمسك الاتحاد الأفريقي باحترام سيادة الصومال ووحدته وسلامة أراضيه وفقًا لميثاقه التأسيسي والقانون الدولي.
وشدد البيان على أن الاتحاد الأفريقي لا يعترف بإقليم “أرض الصومال” (صوماليلاند) كدولة مستقلة، مجددًا التزامه بدعم جهود السلام والاستقرار والتماسك الوطني في الصومال.
