وأوضح المتحدث باسم الشرطة فريدريك ووتلر، أن الحريق اندلع أمس داخل دار الرعاية الواقعة في بلدة أنجورواتوتا، وأنه جرى إنقاذ 51 من المقيمين في الدار.
وأعلنت السُلطات السريلانكية القبض على مدير دار الرعاية للاشتباه في تسببه في الوفيات نتيجة الإهمال.
فيما يجري التحقيق لتحديد أسباب الحريق وملابساته.
